Mary Sparks Featured On Mountain Express Busk Break

Mary Sparks, the drummer of Suddenly Sideways, was featured in Mountain Express's "Busk Break" series. Mary can often be found sharing her beautiful music in downtown Asheville, NC. The Mountain Express, a local Asheville paper,  features Asheville buskers and posts video and audio of their busking performances.

Sept. 24 - The Beacon - Swannanoa, NC

On September 24, 2010 Suddenly Sideways played their second show at The Beacon Pub & Bistro. We rocked the house from 9pm - 12am. The gig went so well that The Beacon asked us to come back and play again the following night.

On September 24, 2010 Suddenly Sideways played their second show at The Beacon Pub & Bistro. We rocked the house from 9pm - 12am. The gig went so well that The Beacon asked us to come back and play again the following night.

We played our first show as Suddenly Sideways on 7-29-2010 at Studio One in Asheville, NC. Justin Heath started things off and then Mary Sparks, our drummer, opened up with her friends. We were able to stream her hammered dulcimer and percussion set and record it. The video is included so read on for to check it out.

On Saturday September 25, 2010 Suddenly Sideways played at The Beacon in Swannanoa, NC.

We were all hanging out downtown for the annual LAAFF so we decided to take some shots. Also included are some images from a rehearsal we had in late August 2010.
